Dear Sir or Madam,
Your name, bank name, account number and sort code
This letter is a follow up in reference to the default charges applied to my account to the sum of £insert total charges claiming back, which I have requested you pay back. Although I wrote to you on date, I have not had a satisfactory response/ had a reply at all (delete as appropriate). I am writing to inform you that if there is no response with an offer for settlement made within the next week I intend to claim the full amount with the 8% statutory interest up to the date of judicial proceedings through the county court. This is based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these default charges are unfair and not proportionate to your costs, and therefore the local county court will most likely rule in my favour.
Without Prejudice
The charges I have claimed above total (insert grand total). However, if you are prepared to pay me (insert acceptable total) within 14 days of the date of this letter, I am prepared to accept this lower figure in full and final settlement of my claim and interest.
I look forward for a full response to this letter within 7 days, otherwise I will commence court proceedings to reclaim my money.
Yours faithfully,
Print name and sign
I have attached details of the charges and interest with this document. (Attach details and save copy for yourself)
